The Community Development Department provides planning, zoning and code compliance to the community through the assistance of our consultant- West Slope Consulting, and the Marshal Office.
These services are intended to guide development within the community to ensure safety, prosperity, and the protection of our natural resources. Building services are provided through the Mesa County Building Department.

What services do we provide?
- Community Planning: Creates more convenient, equitable, healthy, efficient, and attractive places for present and future generations. Current plans articulate the desired future for the De Beque area which informs decision-making today.
- Building Safety and Permitting: Promotes a safely built environment to minimize loss of life and injury to the general public, emergency responders, and to reduce property damage and destruction.
- Code Enforcement: Eliminates nuisances on private property within the community detrimental to the health, safety, convenience, and general welfare of the citizens while preserving property values throughout the community.
