In an effort to provide for the safety and welfare of our residents, and visitors to our community events, the Town of De Beque Board of Trustees made a decision at its June meeting to assist the Mosquito District with the control of the adult mosquitos within the Town limits. Through mid-September the Town will conduct fogging on a weekly schedule or as needed to provide for a more safe and pleasant environment. The schedule is dependent on weather conditions which are conducive to successful fogging operations. Considering the present financial condition of the Mosquito District, which limits its activities, the Town Board believes this decision is the best approach to support the District and help it achieve its mission and goals. This decision is short term only and does not signify that the Town intends to compete with the District. Please contact Town Hall at 283-5475 if you do not want fogging operations near your property and measures will be taken to limit the chances of fog drifting across your property.
