True to traditional small-town values, the De Beque School District can boast a dedicated volunteer group of parents and community members, alongside staff, who are committed to making and keeping our school one of the finest. Our School District is a wonderful place to become involved.
Our teachers and administrators work hard to ensure our curriculum matches the standards set by the State of Colorado. We utilize the best resources and research to educate our children, taking resourceful and practical measures to stretch the limited funds available for schools in Colorado.
The district employs 28 teachers, making an ideal 14/1 pupil/teacher ratio. The teaching staff is a mixture of teachers new to the district and those that have been here for some time. Frequent in-service programs are held for Professional Development. A full-time School Resource Officer ensures a safe environment in which teachers and students can focus on education.
Mesa County School District 49-JT resides in the North Eastern portion of Mesa County, Colorado. There are approximately 145 K-12 students in the school district. District 49-JT is an equal opportunity employer and teachers are recruited from all over the United States.
De Beque is fortunate to have many dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff who make the most of every teaching opportunity regardless of limited funding.
