4th of July Celebration in memory of Scott Elliot: In 2015 the De Beque Recreation Department was in the process of creating a special 4th of July event with Fireworks, Potluck BBQ, Vendors, Kids Games, Live Music and more. Scott Elliot at the time was a Board Trustee for the Town of De Beque. Many discussions of fireworks were held between Scott and the Recreation Department. Scott kindly and willingly volunteered to speak to Kush Gardens about getting a donation for fireworks to take some of the work load off of the Directors shoulders. Scott being the person he was, was always concerned about others and helping out whenever he could. Scott came back the next day excited to tell everyone that Kush Gardens would be donating $5,000.00 for fireworks!! Sadly on May 28th, 2015, Scott lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident. The Recreation Department decided to name the celebration after Scott Elliot for his leadership and help in successfully securing the annual donation for fireworks. We are honored to continue this annual celebration in Scott's name.
